Our Story
We're already married —
but now it's time to celebrate
We were married last year in May — on a rainy morning in Mystic, Connecticut right by the water, surrounded by our immediate families.
The proposal was in Giverny next to Monet's water lilies, and from that moment we knew we'd find our way back to France — this time with everyone we love.
So here we are. One year later, thirty minutes from where it all began, with a château, a long weekend, and our closest people.

This castle in the woods embodies peace, quiet and nature: A 19th-century château set on a large estate within a French national park — small ponds, an enchanted forest, gardens, waterfalls, a secret library and more will be yours to explore.

Every meal is taken care of — you will experience regional cuisine including from Cambrousse, the on-site farm-to-table gastronomic restaurant where all fruit, vegetables, eggs and honey are sourced from the château's own greenhouse and gardens, livestock and apiary, with everything else from small producers across Vexin.

The Days Before
Disneyland Paris —
a little magic first
We're starting the trip with a day at Disneyland Paris on Thursday, August 27th and staying the night at a Disney resort — and you're welcome to join us.

Getting there — From CDG, take the TGV high speed line to Marne-la-Vallée/Chessy. A 2-minute walk to the park gates, ~14 minutes total. Otherwise, Uber is available! |
| Friday shuttle — We're running a shuttle from the Disney resorts to the château on Friday. Let us know if you'll be joining, even if you are not coming to Disney and just want to use the shuttle. |
| Where to stay — We recommend one of the four official Disney hotels below, most guests will be staying at Disney Sequoia Lodge or the nearby Moxy Paris Val d’Europe hotel. |
The Days After
Paris, Giverny,
& the open road
After the weekend, the whole of France is yours. Giverny is 30 minutes away, Paris is ~70, and the open road goes further still.

| Paris — It's been a while since we've explored Paris (the photo above is almost a decade old!) but if this is your first time there are must-see sights, museums and shopping you cannot miss! All less than 90 minutes away. |
| Going further — So what is beyond Paris? Go north for Normandy's D-Day beaches and Mont Saint-Michel or east to the Champagne vineyards, or explore more of what France has to offer. If you have the time - visit a neighboring country (there is even a high-speed train to London!). |

The following details will help you plan your trip. Read the Questions section at the end for additional answers for frequently asked questions.
✈️ Flights
Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) is the closest airport — approximately 60-70 minutes by road. We recommend the airlines below.
When booking your flight, remember the official weekend celebration begins at 16:00 on Friday, but transportation will be leaving Disneyland to get to the venue at 14:00, so you will need to arrange transportation if you cannot get there in time.
🛂 Travel Requirements
You will need a valid, unexpired passport, that does not expire for 3 months beyond August. Every person in your party including children will need one. In addition, customs may ask questions like where you are staying and how you plan to get there. Use the château's address as needed. No visa or any other formal authorization is required, but expect to do the EES process when you arrive which is an additional security line where you will scan your passport and take a photo. You can pre-register info 3 days before departure using the app, details found here.
🚗 Getting Around
You can rent a car at CDG - such as through Avis. Be aware gas and tolls are more expensive, and there are speed traps in the area, but apps like Waze will call them out. In addition, an IDP should be obtained before you go to France if you plan to rent as well as the minimum insurance needed.
Otherwise you can absolutely get around through Uber and train, provided you have WiFi or phone service.

Your accomodations for the weekend is taken care of - we have reserved rooms in the château itself for every guest for Friday and Saturday night. Details will be in your invitation.
🚖 Getting Home
Since everyone has different plans on checking out, there is no set transportation, but taxis will be available by request, please let us know ASAP. We will need to leave the venue by 2 PM, so ensure when booking flights you give yourself enough time on Sunday to get back to the airport (~ 70 min) if you plan to leave that day.

Everything you
need to know
Garden-party relaxed (Did someone say Connecticut casual?) — delicate florals, linen, summer dresses, soft Indian attire and light suits for our celebratory Saturday event. But above all, we want you to be comfortable. Don't bother with the stilettos - sensible shoes for the lawn and walking paths are highly recommended.
Absolutely. In fact if you don't plan to bring your children — please let us know, as we had included them in our initial head count!
It will definitely be hot as it is August, but will cool down a bit at night, typically 70 to 80s during the day and evenings cooling down to the 60s, with occasional heat spikes we will keep an eye out for as we get closer to the event. There is no AC in the château (Unfortunately AC is not common especially at such a historic place) - but fans will be available. The weather can be a bit unpredictable in the Normandy / Île-de-France regions, so it may very well be a weekend filled with bursts of rain, so pack accordingly! Be sure to bring clothing and shoes that are comfortable especially if you plan on hiking any of the trails in the area.
The standard voltage in the USA is 120v while France comes in at 230v so you will need an E/C adapter, or a universal adapter that supports those (easily found on Amazon) to be able to use your American plugs. While most electronics are dual voltage, meaning they will work with either as long as they have the adapter, some items, especially high voltage items like hair dryers or straighteners, are not and will require an additional voltage convertor or you are at risk of burning them out. Some devices may never work even with the adapter and convertor and risk getting destroyed - which we learned the hard way! So be sure to research any devices you plan to bring to ensure you have the proper connectors or adapter or if it can even work at all.
While there are no televisions in the rooms, the entire château does have excellent WiFI as well as the Paris Airport (CDG). When traveling, you may want to consider purchasing and using an eSIM if you would like phone service in France, and don't already have international service with your cell phone or are planning to pay for an international pass through your cell phone provider (which is usually much more expensive than an eSIM).
The most important thing to travel will be your valid, unexpired passport. The ETIAS process, a new mandatory European digital travel authorization is NOT REQUIRED as it will not be up and running until later in the year past our event, rejoice! The only process is EES, which you can pre-register for 3 days before departure using the app. When you land at the airport, just follow the signs to the line for American passports, and you will be asked to scan your passport and have your photo taken to enter France before getting a stamp in your passport, and that's it!
